Gaffing a bull dolphin at the boat. Gaffing your fish is one of the most important parts of the fight. When gaffing a fish in rough water it can prove to be difficult if not with experienced crew.
Great day on the water for both Hooked Up II and Lil Hooked Up II! Hooked Up II caught 35 yellowtail and Lil Hooked Up II caught the limit of yellowtail. While dropping on a few wrecks we spotted a 30lb mahi showering ballyhoo. Between the boats we caught yellowtail, mutton snapper, mackerel, sharks, 25-30lb jack crevelle, blue runners to name a few. Lots of life out there today including porpoise to sea turtle and even a large 8ft bull shark eating our yellowtails. What an exciting day on the water for everyone! Couldn’t have asked for a better day. From families to tournament anglers Capt Doug can provide you with a memorable trip for everyone.
Few pics from today’s reef/wreck trip. Almost limited out on yellowtails but we let a bunch go. Can only eat so much fish. Caught a nice amberjack, sharks, a cero mackerel, yellowtail snapper. We had a big bull dolphin swim up to the boat while fishing a wreck but he wouldn’t eat. It was a bummer because it was a beautiful fish. All in all a great day on the water with wonderful clients!
